Position:  Human Resources Manager – Shared Services

How many years have you been with NSK?
I have worked for NSK for 14 years, within the Human Resources function. For 9 years I have held managerial roles, which have covered head office, commercial and manufacturing environments. I have worked across many European countries, with some exposure to the U.S.A.

What is your background?
I have a Masters Degree in Strategic Personnel, a Bachelors Degree in Business and a professional diploma in Personnel. I joined NSK after graduating from university.

What is your role at NSK?
I am the Human Resources Manager – Shared Services.
 
How did you achieve this position?
In 2006 NSK consolidated aspects of the H.R. function, to improve the effectiveness and efficiency. Based on my skills and experience I was promoted in to a senior managerial position, to implement and manage the newly formed H.R. Shared Service function.

Why did you choose NSK?
When I graduated I rejected 3 job offers before joining NSK. After 3 extensive interviews and numerous tests, NSK offered me a job and I chose to work for the business. I chose NSK because it is global company, with an excellent reputation for quality. NSK committed to invest in my personal and career development, and now, 14 years later NSK continues to do so.

How did you first hear about NSK?
After graduation, I saw an NSK job advertisement for an H.R. Advisor. It was clear from the advisement that NSK was a worldwide engineering company. I contacted my father who worked within the engineering industry. He was very complimentary of the NSK brand.

What do you enjoy the most in your job?
Lead people management strategies, to meet NSK’s customer, process and financial objectives within the area that I operate. From time to time we have “emergency” situations across Europe and it has been satisfying to get involved and solve the people management aspects.

What is your advice to new employees?
Before joining, make full use of NSK information sources such as this website.  When you join - take notice of everything you are told, ask lots of questions, meet lots of people, humbly show your potential, learn how the NSK culture works and keep an open mind.

What does NSK offer you?

What is the most important aspect of your job?
To serve my customers and lead my team, in a way that inspires excellence and enthusiasm to achieve the people management aspects of business goals.

Many people have long service and enjoy working in a systematic approach. Together the people enjoy finding solutions for customers and improving the effectiveness of the business.
