Marek Bąkowski

Position: Senior Application Engineer
Site: NSK Polska Kielce, Poland

When you’re part of a team, joint success is the most rewarding kind of success there is.

“In 1998, NSK expanded its market position in Poland by taking over the bearings company FLT Iskra Kielce. I was working as a sales engineer at FLT at the time, so I was able to watch the company successfully develop from a firm that manufactured products primarily for the Polish market to a global player with a large workforce both at home and abroad. I’ve been part of it right from the start – for almost 13 years.

In my own career, I have also gone through various stages of development. First of all, I serviced various technical machines as a young engineer. Later on, I went into sales and now I am a senior application engineer. I work as a kind of ‘technical coach’ – in other words, I help co-workers, clients and authorised dealers with technical issues. That means I deal with a lot of different people.

I really like doing extra training and continuing professional development. When I joined NSK, I had already completed a course of further study in foreign trade. Since I’ve been at the company, I’ve been able to participate in various sales courses initiated by NSK. All of that really helps me with my work.

There is a strong sense of team spirit at NSK, which I like. I also enjoy finding out about different spheres of application for bearings. Routine? There’s no such thing in my job! No two days are the same – there are always new tasks, challenges and the opportunity to meet people from different cultural backgrounds. I find that really exciting.”
