New Bearing Doctor Publication

Bearing News

26/09/2008

‘NEW BEARING DOCTOR’ PUBLICATION IS THE FREE ANTIDOTE TO AVOIDING BEARING FAILURES AND COSTLY DOWNTIME.

NSK’s “New Bearing Doctor” publication is the ideal tool to assist factory managers and maintenance engineers in identifying and preventing bearing failures to avoid costly production downtime.

The new, free publication is one of the most comprehensive of its type, running to thirty-five pages and divided into seven sections. These deal with all aspects of bearing operation including care and handling, mounting, lubrication and maintenance, types of bearing damage and countermeasures that can be adopted.

All of the sections are easy to assimilate and are complemented by charts and graphs that provide at-a-glance information on such factors as bearing irregularities and their possible causes, selection of lubricants for different applications, relation between oil viscosity and temperature, grease replacement intervals, and much, much more.

In addition to these comprehensive charts, what also sets the ‘New Bearing Doctor’ apart are the twenty-three pages, in section seven of the publication, devoted to images of bearings that have failed. Each image is in full colour and is accompanied by a description of the symptom of the failure and its cause.
