NSK ProKIT

NSK has revealed details of a planned extension and new packaging for its ProKIT series of dedicated wheel hub bearings for the Independent Automotive Aftermarket (IAM). The ProKIT range of single-box solutions, which only contain 100% genuine products such as bearings, seals and nuts (as tested and approved by OE car manufacturers), will be increased to cover a wider range of vehicles over the coming months.

The premise of ProKIT’s growing success is based on proven OE design and manufacturing experience – NSK bearing solutions are already available for more than 70 million cars in circulation across Europe.

Quality is another cornerstone of the ProKIT brand, which is an essential attribute of wheel hub bearings in order to provide ongoing safety and security for vehicle owners.

High quality also equates to less warranty returns for distributors, thus avoiding the elevated costs this activity can accrue. NSK constantly strives to be the ‘No. 1 in Total Quality’, which has become a company mantra. In addition, this ethos transmits to customer services and quality of data arising from NSK’s long-standing business relationships with automotive OEMs. Again, reliability of data helps limit the number of returns for distributors.

In support of high-quality ProKIT products, NSK has developed new packaging that features a number of benefits for customers. For instance, not only will the 100% recyclable packaging be produced in 10 languages, but it will carry clear warnings about avoiding magnetic sources and only using a professional mechanic to mount the bearings.

Importantly, the packaging’s label carries information such as the EAN barcode, part number, relevant applications, EAC, QR code and quantity. NSK also leverages the European TecDoc database and has made available a full e-catalogue that is accessible via the company’s website dedicated to the IAM.

In a further development relevant to the IAM, a new NSK European Distribution Centre (EDC) has been constructed in the Dutch city of Tilburg. The site offers 72% more warehouse space than the previous facility and accommodates 51% more pallets, helping ensure even more reliable and fast deliveries. The warehouse stocks automotive and industrial bearings for customers located across Europe, including Russia and Turkey, as well as the Middle East.

In line with increased IAM activity, NSK is actively looking to develop its aftermarket distribution network across EMEA. NSK is therefore seeking long-term distribution agreements with selected and limited partners who understand local markets and can work to provide the best support and services to customers.
