NSK to exhibit at Innotrans Berlin - Bringing high-speed power transmission solutions to the rail industry

NSK will be attending the world's leading exhibition for transport technology being held in Berlin from 23 - 26 September 2014; with over 120,000 trade visitors expected at the fair, Innotrans offers a huge opportunity to those involved in passenger and freight transport to see the latest technology. 

NSK will be exhibiting its latest bearing designs for traction motors, gearboxes, wheelsets drive units in Hall 21a, Stand 407.

With nearly 100 years' experience, NSK is the leading manufacturer of bearings for high speed trains in Japan. As the industry in Europe looks to improve the speed and efficiency of the rail infrastructure, so NSK is helping to meet this challenge with the latest bearing designs, capable of delivering high performance, reliability and extended maintenance intervals, even under the extreme conditions encountered in this industry.

NSK has developed a number of bearing designs specifically for rail applications; these include traction motor bearings with ceramic outer rings to prevent electrical pitting and gearbox roller bearings with increased cage strength.
The latest wheelset bearings feature a range of sealing solutions, highly developed steels and optimised lubrication to enable an extended maintenance period that coincides with that of the wheels themselves, delivering significant savings on maintenance and operational costs.

NSK has supplied its wheelset bearings for use on the Hitachi trains that are being built for the Intercity Express Programme (IEP) in the UK. Based on designs that have delivered in terms of performance and safety on the advanced high-speed Shinkansen trains in Japan, the NSK wheelset bearings have been re-engineered to deliver an operating life of over 1 million miles.
